Field & Stream Icons

In July 2009, two of the most respected names in the outdoor industry – Outdoor Channel and Field & Stream – bring to the viewer an amazing new half-hour documentary program that shares intimate biographies of the greatest names in the outdoor genre. Field & Stream Icons will highlight the rise-to-fame and personal journeys of such luminaries and visionaries as: Will Primos, Ron Schara, Keith Warren, Bill Jordan, Jim Shockey and The Drury Brothers.

With the world-class production teams of Wolf Creek Productions and Outdoor Channel combined with the storytelling ability of Field & Stream Icons will prove to be as interesting, moving and as powerful as the men and women being featured in each episode.

In the vein of This is Your Life, Icons will focus each episode on one particular titan of outdoor industry. Using personal anecdotes, archival footage and interviews with contemporaries and family members, each half-hour peers behind the camo to show you a side of each Icon that the viewer has never seen before. What makes them tick? What drives them, and how did each individual get to where they are today? These are just some of the questions that will be answered in each episode.

Steve Gruber, Icons producer and president of Wolf Creek Productions, was in awe during the production of the series. "Field & Stream Icons will look beyond what viewers see each week," he commented, "and explore more in-depth the personalities that come alive."
