Firearms of U.S. Freedom
Guns that have historical significance in America's quest for liberty
From the “shot heard around the world” that began the American Revolution, firearms have played an important role in the United States of America.
The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution, part of the Bill of Rights adopted on Dec. 15, 1791, protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms.
The National Rifle Association today is recognized as America's foremost defender of those rights. The NRA also has an extensive collection of guns in its National Firearms Museum.
For Freedom Week, Outdoor Channel has selected images of firearms, from the Revolutionary War to 9/11, that have historical significance in America’s quest for freedom.
