BA Engineer – Age 55, Seattle, Wash.
An old-school fisherman, Craig started crabbing in 1980, but stopped several years later due to the brutal conditions of the job. On one of his trips, for example, his captain would roll forward the clock, claiming that the crew had slept six hours when they had actually only slept two. Unable to turn his back on his trade, Craig eventually returned to the sea and started black cod pot fishing from the Gulf of Alaska to San Diego, often working 60-70 hours straight. As the former engineer on the Jennifer A, Craig is looking forward to relinquishing his engineering duties and serving as a deckhand. After kings, Craig plans to return to the Jennifer A and resume his role as the engineer for opies.
