OUR PLEDGE

"A man may well be condemned, not for doing something, but for doing nothing." -- William Barkley

As "America's Leader in Outdoor TV," Outdoor Channel tries to do its part each and every day to educate others and initiate good practices when it comes to the great outdoors. From our television production guidelines that encourage 'catch and release' in regards to fishing and 'fair chase" when it comes to hunting, we've always prided ourselves as a company that "walks the walk."

Starting this July, our popular printed glossy quarterly program guide (which features in-depth articles on your favorite shows, conservation partnerships and interviews with the outdoor industry's most popular stars), goes paperless and online-only at OutdoorChannel.com. This step alone will save the ink, paper stock and waste involved in the production of almost a million pages a year of glossy printed material.

Outdoor Channel and our valued affinity partners can't do it alone. We need your help. Consider taking the pledge below and get involved with one of the many programs featured on this site, or utilize the tips and ways that you can keep this country beautiful and make a personal difference to support the efforts of "This Land is Your Land."

TAKE THE PLEDGE

I, as a hunter, fisherman, outdoorsman or active enthusiast of my country's natural resources, do pledge to accept this monumental challenge of conserving and preserving the great outdoors for the immediate future, and generations to come.

To demonstrate and pursue this pledge by fulfilling at least one of the C.O.R.E. principles of "This Land is Your Land" (conservation, outreach, responsibility, education) by participating in one of Outdoor Channel's affinity partners' many programs and initiatives to protect, nuture and educate others in regards to this country's natural resources.

To ask at least five other friends, family or other outdoorsman to get actively involved in one of the many affinity partners and their numerous programs and initiatives.
