When it comes to protecting our natural resources, it's not only personal responsibility and education that change the way people act and think, but reaching out also makes a tremendous difference in behavior. Some of Outdoor Channel's affinity partners below have popular, amazing outreach programs and initiatives that, while successful, can always use a little help to spread the word.

NATIONAL HUNTING AND FISHING DAY

National Hunting and Fishing Day, celebrated the fourth Saturday of every September, remains the most effective grassroots efforts ever undertaken to promote the outdoor sports and conservation. On May 2, 1972, President Nixon signed the first proclamation of National Hunting and Fishing Day, writing, "I urge all citizens to join with outdoor sportsmen in the wise use of our natural resources and in insuring their proper management for the benefit of future generations."

NATIONAL FORESTS FOUNDATION

Founded by Congress in 1991, the National Forest Foundation works with the U.S. Forest Service to care for natural treasures for the millions of visitors they receive each year and for you, and those who come after you. CONGRESSIONAL SPORTSMEN'S FOUNDATION

We can have the best wildlife habitat imaginable and a record number of people who buy fishing and hunting licenses, but it won’t matter if misguided laws and regulations are made at the federal and state levels that negatively impact our outdoor traditions or if no one is proactively promoting a sportsmen’s agenda in the political arena.
