Pirates Of The Flats Series Becomes Buccaneers And Bones

From Press Release

The Emmy nominated series Pirates of the Flats that aired in 2010 on ESPN2 is back by popular demand.

Moving to the Outdoor Channel for its second season under the new name of Buccaneers & Bones, the series will anchor the network's new weekend saltwater fishing block.

Buccaneers & Bones debuts on Friday, December 31st at 6am and 7pm Eastern. Programming will run 3 days a week through the first quarter of 2011.

"The mix of thoughtful dialogue from seasoned anglers with life experience worth listening to and plenty of close encounters with the finned gifts of Belize promises to make season two even more memorable," says Chris Dorsey, President of Orion Multimedia. The shows will air at 6am and 7pm Eastern Fridays, 6am and 7pm Eastern Saturdays, and 8:30am Eastern Sundays.

Once again the stellar cast includes legendary NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw, film star Michael Keaton, award-winning author Thomas McGuane, visionary Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard, and Bonefish & Tarpon Trust board member Bill Klyn. The addition of actor Zach Gilford (The River Why, Friday Night Lights) in his saltwater angling debut, and Lori-Ann Murphy, the accomplished angling ambassador of Belize's El Pescador Lodge, take the series farther down the path of the saltwater angler's life.

Filmed on location in Belize and Florida, Buccaneers & Bones was produced by Denver-based Orion Multimedia, America's leading creator of outdoor adventure programming.

Presented in partnership with the Bonefish & Tarpon Trust, Buccaneers & Bones is narrated by Brokaw and explores the wonders of flats fishing through the eyes of this all-star cast who have each devoted a significant part of their lives to conservation causes. The series will also reveal some of the latest research funded by BTT – information that will help anglers catch more fish and better save their fragile coastal habitats.

Buccaneers & Bones debuts on the Outdoor Channel on Friday, December 31st at 6am and 7pm Eastern. It airs Friday at 6 AM, 7 PM, and 1 AM, Saturday at 2 PM, and Sunday at 8:30 AM. New episodes run every weekend for seven weeks at the same airtimes.
