Michael Waddell needs no introduction, he is the face of the modern hunting industry and a seasoned hunter. He is the host of Michael Waddell’s Bone Collector and Realtree Road Trips with Michael Waddell on Outdoor Channel. Listen in to a special 3-part interview where Michael begins by talking about elk hunting. He recently put a massive Nevada bull on the ground after drawing a tag he’s been applying to get for 20 years. “It just goes to show, when it comes to public ground there’s some phenomenal hunting all across the country.” Michael explains why public land can make for affordable and even inexpensive hunts that pay off in a big way if you do some homework and find out what tags to apply for in the right units. “It’s a myth that big animals don’t live on public ground,” says Michael. If hunters just want the opportunity to hunt no matter what and don’t necessarily care whether they hunt a trophy unit, Michael says that there are plenty of opportunities out there where tags are almost guaranteed, instead of waiting years to be drawn. He’ll outline the gear he used to score his Nevada bull, including his brand new Hoyt Defiant. He then switches gears and talks about hunting and the American dream. In a series of recent Facebook Live streams, Michael has been very outspoken about the way he feels about life, politics, personal beliefs and the hunting industry. He explains why he feels it is so important to get involved and speak up right now, rather than sitting on the sidelines. He’ll then conclude with a look at the upcoming seasons of Bone Collector and Realtree Road Trips. Michael says they are taking a new approach to their shows and will be bringing back some of the nostalgia and showcase the sentimental value of hunting. Michael’s goal is to highlight the true roots of what makes hunting fun and special and to display the culture of the hunter and help other people understand it.
Don’t miss a fun and informative 3-part interview with Michael Waddell. You can find out more about Michael and engage with him at www.bonecollector.com, Twitter @boogerbottom, Facebook and a host of other outlets online.
Fall is here, the weather is cooling down and hunting seasons are opening across the country. When you aren’t out in the field pursuing your own hunting adventure, you can catch some great action with programming from Outdoor Channel, Sportsman Channel and World Fishing Network. Mitch Petrie, the Vice President of Programming for Outdoor Sportsman Group, joins Jim and Trav to talk about some new shows you need to look for. ?Mitch encourages viewers to check out Outdoor Channel’s Monday night line-up with new episodes of Alaska’s Ultimate Bush Pilots and the new series Back Country Rescue that follows the Teton County Search and Rescue team. He’ll also look at the Friday night line-up with new episodes of Buck Commander, Craig Morgan All Access Outdoors and Nick’s Wild Ride. He’ll then focus on Sportsman Channel and their fall line-up that features new episodes of MCMILLAN, Gun it With Benny Spies, Predator Nation, Outback Outdoors, and The Outfitters Built by Ford F-Series.
Then Mitch will turn his attention to angling with an update on World Fishing Network and shows like A Fishing Story, Fishin’ Hot Spots, JP DeRose Breaking Boundaries, Fly fusion and more.
And finally Mitch talks predator hunting and a recent coyote hunt with the experts from Fox Pro. Mitch says, “It broadens your horizons and challenges your shooting skills. The game is plentiful and in need of being managed.” He says the best part about coyote hunting was the amazing access they had and landowners not turning them away.

Steve West is a renowned hunter and adventurer who has traversed the globe in search of great hunting. He is a professional hunting consultant and the founder of Steve’s Outdoor Adventures. In addition to booking and guiding hunts for clients, Steve is the host and producer of two great television shows, Steve's Outdoor Adventures and The Adventure Series, both airing on Outdoor Channel.
Tune in to The Revolution as Jim and Trav cash in on Steve’s extensive experience pursuing North American big game animals, as well as extreme northern hunting adventures in this week’s Big Game XL show. Steve kicks off his interview talking moose hunting. Steve says this year has been a solid year for moose hunting and that his clients have been finding success with great bulls. A lot of hunters dream about back country DIY hunts where they are able to be dropped in the remote north country and come out victorious with hundreds of pounds of meat in tow. Steve says DIY hunts are great, but as a guide he doesn’t recommend them for hunters that aren’t well seasoned. Steve recounts a few experiences they’ve had this season where hunters were unprepared and found themselves struggling without the help of a guide. Steve says a guide is an important part of the hunt, as they are properly equipped with the knowledge and know-how to make your hunt more enjoyable and ultimately more successful.
He’ll then switch gears and talk about a great elk hunt he guided recently for Camo Dreams, a non-profit dedicated to providing once in a lifetime outdoor opportunities to deserving children with disabilities or terminal illnesses. Steve was able to make a young lady’s dream come true when he guided her on a hunt that ended with her putting a 7x7 bull on the ground. Tune in and be inspired. Listen now!
