Live Bear Hunt in Canada

OC.com to webcast Pat & Nicole's bear hunt in Canada

By: Mike Suchan, OutdoorChannel.com

Pat and Nicole Reeve of “Driven with Pat & Nicole” are excited to be featured on OutdoorChannel.com’s latest Live Hunt. The Reeves are hosting our web streaming camera on May 6th as they go after black bear with bow in Saskatchewan, Canada. The stream for May 6th’s hunt will run from 7-11 p.m. ET.

“This is a pretty exciting endeavor,” Nicole said. “This will be our eighth year going to Timberclaw Outfitters. There’s nothing like getting eye to eye with a big black bear. They have a high percentage of color-phase bear, and we’ve taken some giants there.”

Nicole has her tag for a black bear, but if she doesn’t fill it, the webcast could return for a second day. If she does get her black bear, there is a possibility Outdoor Channel content editor Steve Bowman will be featured for a second Live Hunt. He has a bear tag and has asked his wife to find a place for his forthcoming bear rug.

The Reeves recently hunted in New Zealand for red stag and just returned from the Arctic with good friends Cody Robbins of Live2Hunt and ScentBlocker president Scott Shultz on a hunt for muskox. They are shooting a commercial at home this weekend before heading north on Monday. After Canada, it’s off to Alaska for brown bear.

“We don’t let the grass grow under our feet,” Nicole said. “Brandon Schreiber at Timberclaw is like family to us."

This is the fourth live hunt on OutdoorChannel.com, with previous webcasts featuring Mark Zona of “Zona’s Awesome Fishing Show,” Bassmaster Elite Series angler and bow hunting addict Brent Chapman, and 11-year-old Trey Merritt, a descendant of Davy Crockett.

Executives at Outdoor Channel find Live Hunts a logical step in the web plan to showcase the talent producing shows for the network.

“The new ownership is excited about Pat and Nicole going for bear,” said Mike Williams, vice-president of digital media for Outdoor Channel. “This is a feature that keeps us out in front as an outdoors web site.”
