Crush Recipe: Mini Elk Meatloaf

Lee & Tiffany Lakosky share one of their favorite recipes to help clear the elk meat out of your freezer

  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1/2 cup quick oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion                      
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 pound elk/venison


  • 2/3 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon mustard


  1. In bowl, whisk egg and milk. Stir in cheese, oats, onion, salt and pepper. Mix. Add elk/venison and mix well. Shape into 8 loaves. Place in a greased 9x13 pan.
  2. In small bowl, combine ketchup, brown sugar and mustard. Mix. Spoon a tablespoon or so over the meat loaves. Rest of sauce can be heated and served with meal.
  3. Bake loaves uncovered at 350 degrees in oven for 25-30 minutes or until meat thermometer reads 160 degrees.
